Our Story

A Legacy of Jewelry

My love for vintage jewelry started with a simple yet profound moment—when my dad passed down my grandmother’s pearl necklace to me. While I cherished the piece, I wanted to modernize it for everyday wear, so I had it restrung with a new clasp. That experience made me realize something powerful: jewelry isn’t just an accessory; it’s a legacy. I still love wearing pieces from both of my grandmothers, honoring their memories while appreciating their timeless beauty.

Why Vintage?

There are so many reasons to love vintage jewelry. For me, it starts with affordability—I’ve always been thrifty, and vintage allows you to find stunning, high-quality pieces at a fraction of the price of new jewelry. Then, there’s the craftsmanship—mass-produced jewelry today simply doesn’t compare to the thoughtfulness and artistry of older pieces. And, of course, there’s the history—I love knowing that each item carries a past and that by wearing it, I’m giving new life to someone’s legacy. Lastly, sustainability is a huge factor. While precious metals are rarely discarded, melting them down for reuse takes time and resources. By rescuing and reviving vintage jewelry, I’m helping preserve history while reducing waste.

How It All Started

The defining moment for My Grandma’s Pearls came when I redesigned the website for my favorite local jeweler. My goal was to help them reach a wider audience and make it easier to find incredible vintage pieces. But I quickly realized that not all jewelry is created equal—it takes a trained eye to curate designs that are as stylish today as they were 50+ years ago. That’s when I thought, “Screw it, I’m doing it myself.” And just like that, My Grandma’s Pearls was born.

Our Mission & Values

At My Grandma’s Pearls, we believe jewelry should be: (1) Unique – Each piece is one of a kind, chosen to make a statement. (2) Timeless – Every design is just as wearable today as when it was first created. (3) Sustainable – Vintage jewelry allows us to celebrate craftsmanship without waste. (4) Affordable – High-quality jewelry shouldn’t have to come at a premium.

There’s something special about wearing a piece that no one else has—one that turns heads and sparks curiosity. My favorite moment? When someone asks, “Where did you get that?” and the answer is, “It’s vintage.
